As public adjusters we assist policyholders in the preparation, presentation and adjustment of covered property losses. The burden of proof is on the policyholder to prove their claim to the insurance company. A public adjuster, according to the New Jersey Public Adjusters Association, “assists the policyholder in meeting this requirement by preparing detailed and exhaustive construction cost estimates representing the building losses, itemized business and personal property inventories and additional living expense claims and business interruption claims.”

We present our clients’ claims (from both residential and business owners) to the insurance companies, certified as to their accuracy and veracity. The policyholder benefits because the result is a claim that is comprehensive and accurate, often resulting in a recovery that is superior to that which would have been obtained by the policyholder alone.
